St. Pantaleimon OCMC Chapter
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church – Raleigh, North Carolina
The St. Pantaleimon OCMC Chapter is a Christ-centered ministry of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, working in partnership with the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC).
Our mission is to bring the love of Christ to those in need—both within our parish family and through Orthodox missions around the world.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
Caring for Our Parish Family
The St. Pantaleimon Chapter provides spiritual and practical care through:
- Prayer and spiritual support
- Home visits and companionship
- Meals and food deliveries
- Transportation assistance
- Telephone check-ins
- Cards and messages of encouragement
We especially seek to support widows and widowers, homebound and shut-in parishioners, those experiencing illness or recovering from surgery or injury, pregnant and new mothers, caregivers, and anyone who may need regular encouragement or support.
Prayer Warriors
Our Prayer Warriors Team has grown to 21 people who pray daily for those who request prayer.
Prayer requests may be submitted through the prayer box at church or the online prayer request form. Each week, requests are collected and shared with the Prayer Warriors, who remember those in need in their daily prayers.
“Lord, have mercy and hear our prayers.”
Supporting Orthodox Missions
Our chapter actively supports OCMC missionaries and Orthodox mission projects around the world through prayer, education, fundraising, and parish events.
Recent efforts have supported:
- St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Angoon, Alaska – fundraiser toward the church roof replacement.
- OCMC SAMP – Support a Mission Priest in Indonesia – fundraising through our Glendi & Karaoke Night.
- IMPACT Program in Africa – supported through our Lenten Dinner and Mission Lecture.
- OCMC mission programs worldwide – through our virtual OCMC Coin Box.
We are grateful to everyone who has supported these efforts through prayer, generosity, volunteering, cooking, event preparation, and participation.
Our Children and Orthodox Missions
We are especially committed to helping our Sunday School children understand that they are part of the worldwide Orthodox mission of the Church.
OCMC mission lessons have been introduced into our Sunday School curriculum, with additional lessons planned for the 2026–2027 school year. Mission coin boxes are also being used to help our children participate directly in supporting Orthodox missions.
We welcome additional volunteers who would like to work with our Sunday School and help our young people learn about Orthodox missionaries and communities around the world.
How You Can Participate
There are many ways to become part of the St. Pantaleimon OCMC Chapter:
Pray. Serve. Give. Encourage.
You can:
- Pray for those in need and for Orthodox missionaries.
- Become a care ministry volunteer.
- Help with meals, transportation, visits, or telephone calls.
- Participate in mission education and Sunday School activities.
- Support OCMC fundraising events and mission projects.
- Submit a prayer request for yourself or someone you know.
All care information is handled with confidentiality, dignity, respect, and pastoral sensitivity.
Looking Ahead
As our ministry grows, we hope to expand our outreach to widows, widowers, caregivers, homebound parishioners, and those experiencing times of difficulty, while continuing to strengthen youth involvement and support OCMC missionaries and mission projects around the world.
We are also planning a December 2026 fundraiser, featuring a potluck dinner and talk on “Orthodoxy Around the World,” with proceeds benefiting the OCMC Support A Mission Priest (SAMP) program.
We invite everyone in our parish family to share their gifts, ideas, prayers, and love.
“For our own good and for our own fortune, let us at least promise ourselves that from this very minute we will try to love God more than anything and to fulfill His Holy Will!!!”
— St. Herman of Alaska
Glory to God for all things!
May God bless our parish family, our ministry, our missionaries, and all those whom we are called to serve.
