Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Many of us participated in what can only be called a historic General Assembly meeting on June 1. The point we have come to is truly a huge milestone for our Holy Trinity Parish family. Following are the decisions we made: - We will build a "triad"style Byzantine sanctuary, which provides for the maximum visibility, capacity, and utility.
- We agreed that we build the Sanctuary with balcony, administrative wing, and library as phase 1, This includes classrooms, gathering area and storage on lower level of the sanctuary
- Finally, we agreed to expand the committees to include fundraising, building, finance and communications, with some of the leadership named.
I would be not be honest if I said to you that raising the money to realize the beautiful master plan will be an easy task. Of course this is a big goal – we are planning what can only be called an amazing testament to our faith and to our love for our Church. Just as those Holy Trinity members of years ago planned for the future, and anticipated growth in the Church in Raleigh, we have the responsibility to do the same. What we are planning is not overly extravagant. Yes it will be be a lot of money. But what we have planned is no more than what we all agreed to when we set out to develop a master plan. It is a very functional plan, bringing a book store, a library, and classrooms that will accommodate our increasing population of children. The master plan we have put together is very smart - notice the wonderful the flow in and out of the sanctuary, leading to the hall. The sanctuary will be an inspiring place to be with our Lord, with a dome that will lift our eyes to heaven. The sanctuary has many functional features, including better visibility to the service, more room in the altar, and seating for 550 parishioners. We have given the master plan plenty of thought, and have run an open process with many opportunities for parishioners to voice their opinions. As we move on to the next phases of planning, we intend to continue to communicate our progress. Yours Truly, Harry Costa, Holy Trinity Parish President
